  1. 1. Stage the room and protect the path

Park close, then walk the path from curb to room of choice. Lay runners on hard floors, pad door jambs, and clear pets and kids from the work area before the carton comes inside.

  2. 2. Open the carton and inventory hardware

Cut away from the finish, lift panels out onto blankets, and match every cam lock, dowel, and screw to the parts list. Photograph missing hardware before you start so dispatch can decide whether to continue.

  3. 3. Build on a protected, level surface

Assemble on blankets, not carpet pile that hides screws. Follow the manufacturer sequence so hidden fasteners stay reachable. Do not overtighten cams on particle board.

  4. 4. Square the carcass before doors and drawers

  5. 5. Treat wall anchoring as a separate authorization

  6. 6. Place, level, and remove debris

  7. 7. Walk the customer through operation

Tools

  • Phillips and flat screwdrivers
  • Allen key set from the carton
  • Rubber mallet
  • Furniture blankets and floor runners
  • Stud finder, carried only for stops where anchoring is authorized

Safety tips

  • Keep hardware off the floor so nobody steps on it.
  • Do not stand on unassembled panels to reach fasteners.
  • Lift with a partner once the piece is fully joined.
  • Do not drill or anchor into a wall unless the work order or manufacturer procedure authorizes it and you have verified the substrate and fasteners.
